Welcome
Welcome
Welcome to OMS Math and Science 2009-2010
I am teaching 1 class of Pre-Algebra II, 2 classes of Science 7, and 3 classes of Pre-Algebra I. I decided to try a blog style of web page this year to help keep you up on assignments and homework-we’ll see how it goes!
This is my 3rd year teaching math and science at OMS. Prior to this, I taught at Pioneer for 2 years doing the self contained special education program. I have taught grades 5-8 for the last 15 years and in 3 states: Colorado, Utah, and New York. This is the 2nd time I lived in Washington.
I received my BS in Elementary Education, minors in English writing and general Science from the University of Idaho in 1994. I earned my MS in Special Education at SUNY-Potsdam in 2004. I am certified in Washington for grades K-8, Middle School Math and Science, and K-12 Special Education. While I have taught everything there is to teach in Middle School (except Art and PE), my favorite classes are Math and Science. I feel so lucky to be able to teach them in such a great school. The teachers and administration here are the best-and I have seen quite a few!
I do have a life outside of school too. You can see a picture of my husband, Lyle, and our 3 kids above. We love to go biking and hiking together. The kids are also getting pretty good at board games like Scrabble and Monopoly. I like to go for long walks, read good books, and cook. The Idaho pics above are my Idaho Vandals. I went to college in Moscow, Idaho (born there too!) and all I can say is:
I-D-A-H-O IDAHO, IDAHO GO GO GO!
